DIR-2 Form: Eligibility, Required Documents, and Submission Steps

Introduction

The DIR-2 Form is a declaration of your eligibility and willingness to assume the role of director. It is mandatory for individuals who aspire to the position of director to issue and sign this form in accordance with the Companies Act of 2013. 

The DIR-2 must be obtained from each director prior to appointment under section 152(5), as mandated by Rule 8 of the Companies (Appointment & Qualification of Directors) Rules, 2014.

Documents Required during the submission DIR-2 Form

In order to submit the DIR-2 form, the following documents are required:

  1. Proof of Identity: A valid identification document, such as a voter ID, Aadhar card, or any other recognized identity proof.
  2. Proof of Address: Relevant documents that serve as proof of address, such as electricity invoices, rental agreements, or any other official documents that verify your residential address.

How to Submit DIR-2?

The following procedures should be taken to submit Form DIR-2:

Step1

Utilize your valid credentials to access the MCA portal.

Step 2

Access the SPICe+ form section.

Step 3

Select the “Attach” button located next to the “Declaration by first subscribers and directors” in the Attachments section.

Step 4

The Directors’ certified DIR-2 document should be uploaded.

Step 5

Ensure that all pertinent attachments are included.

Step 6

Submit the Part B form and any pertinent documentation.
