Big Update: GSTR 1 Due Date Extended due to Technical Glitch till 12th April

Goods and Services Tax Network updated on ‘X’ formally Twitter to extend the due date to CBIC (Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs of fillings GSTR 1 and also updated the same on Goods and Services Tax Portal.

Here is the Big Update for all the Goods and Services Tax (GST) Payers who are filling Goods and Services Tax Returns- 1(GSTR 1) The Goods and Services Tax Network has extended the due date for filling the GSTR 1 due to technical glitch.

The GSTN advisory states as follows:

GSTN has noticed that taxpayers are facing difficulties in fillings of GSTR-1 intermittently since yesterday due to technical issues leading to slow response on the portal. GSTN has accordingly recommended to CBIC that the due date for filling of GSTR-1 for monthly taxpayers be extended by the day i.e. 12/04/2024.

GSTR-1

The details of outward supplies are submitted electronically on Goods and Services Tax Portal by registered Goods and Services Tax Payers. The due date to file GSTR-1 for a given tax period is 11th day of the succeeding month in case of taxpayers filing it monthly and the 13th day of month succeeding the end of every quarter in case of taxpayers filing quarterly.

Conclusion

“GSTN has accordingly recommended to @cbic_india that the due date for filing of GSTR-1 for the monthly taxpayers be extended by a day i.e. till 12/4/24,” the GST Tech said.
